Dance at CCA
The Dance Program at Calvary Chapel Academy is dedicated to providing a comprehensive dance education that fosters creativity, discipline, and a love for movement. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment where students can explore their artistic potential and glorify God through dance. By participating in our dance program, students will develop a lifelong love of dance and a deeper appreciation for the arts.
Dance Styles
Our dance program offers a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary. Through our classes, students will:
- Develop technical skills: Students will learn fundamental dance techniques, such as posture, alignment, and movement quality.
- Enhance physical fitness: Dance is a great way to improve flexibility, strength, and coordination.
- Express creativity: Students will have the opportunity to express themselves creatively through choreography and performance.
- Build self-confidence: Dance can boost self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Learn teamwork and collaboration: Students will work together with their peers to create group dances and performances.

Middle School
Dance: Students will cover a combination of contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and ballet. Dance techniques are enriched and enlivened through the study of works by a variety of diverse artists, development of genre-specific movement vocabulary and dance terminology, and building knowledge and skills related to somatic practices, dance composition, analysis of effort and outcomes, dance history and culture, collaborative work, and rehearsal and performance protocols. -
High School
Dance Techniques I-IV: In these courses, students develop basic knowledge and skills in varied dance styles such as ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. These courses offer acquisition of technique, movement terminology, solo and ensemble performance, choreographic principles, aesthetic awareness, and performance quality with a cultural and historical context.
