Guidance

Guidance counseling at Calvary Chapel Academy is two-fold: academic and spiritual. We endeavor to ensure that our students thrive academically, while also encouraging them to be lifelong followers of Christ with a Kingdom focus. We believe that each student has a unique, God-given purpose and strive to give the guidance needed to succeed in reaching that purpose.

After admission to CCA, 9th-12th grade students meet with the Guidance Department to develop a schedule that will best fit their academic needs. Throughout high school, we engage students in college and career placement through Scoir (https://www.scoir.com/), a platform that connects students to colleges, allowing them to explore what colleges have to offer. Scoir also allows students to connect to admissions counselors, take virtual tours, and compare colleges based on majors, rankings, student engagement, and more.

We follow the Bright Futures requirements for courses, along with providing opportunities for SAT and ACT prep. We provide in-house scholarships as well as access to local, state, and national scholarships. Our 2024 seniors received over 1.8 million in scholarship offers. We are also an AP Capstone school providing a path for eligible students to graduate with an AP Capstone diploma. In addition, we see many graduates receive the designation of AP Scholar through our rigorous AP program, which recently granted us the distinction of being named an AP Platinum school, placing us in the top 6% of schools globally.

College Cafes and Tours

During the school year, we hold College Cafés. College admissions counselors from across the state and country come to campus and meet with juniors and seniors, sharing valuable information about their respective colleges and the college admissions process. We also go on two college tours each year.

Community Service

CCA requires students to complete 120 hours of community service by graduation. Our goal is for students to develop a servant’s heart and a desire to serve others that will continue after graduation. Community service hours can be earned through church ministries, summer camps, sporting events, aiding, and much more.
